about half awesome, half meh
RELISTEN1: first two albums are better than I remember, but still not as good as I would’ve wanted them to be. They’ve got a couple awesome songs, songs I adore, and then they’ve got a bunch that are pretty good but not actually good enough for me to want to listen to them. They’ll go too long, or end up being a cover, or just miss somewhere in some way I can’t quite point out. Fashion Nugget and Comfort Eagle are both pretty solid, definitely a step up. The earlier albums are weaker, still in the B, B+ range, but I think those two good albums save it. All around it ends up pretty solid. The good songs are great, the less good songs are decent. The later albums have lots of great songs, fix up the ratio, and it’s all a vibe anyway. Low A- is okay, that’ll work
