not my jam. there were songs that I liked and sometimes I’d feel it, but most often it just didn’t click. maybe it’ll grow on me but I doubt it- my favorite of all their songs was the ‘stripped’ stuff in the first album, and the style of their songs I feel only got less ‘stripped’ as time went on, so.
RELISTEN1: Yeah, I just really don’t much like them. I think my initial read was pretty much spot on here- I like album one’s stripped songs, I like a lot of the vibe of the core songwriting and arrangement, but I dislike the production, it feels distracting and smothering and I just don’t like it. Ultimately I’m gonna say that I never had high enough hopes for it to make it to a C, so that’s a big bump down to the D range
