151: Olivia Rodrigo (B+)

feels very current indie, parts of Billie Eilish or Lizzy McAlpine or whatever. Those parts are fine, I guess, I know people love it and die for it, but it’s never been my jam, still isn’t my jam. The parts that are more pop-punkish, though, I dig. GUTS is a lot more like that than SOUR, which is a pro for me for sure. I feel like it’s gone from like 20% big fun energy 80% dramatic slow to something more like 50/50. It’s a jam. So yeah on the whole there’s a good chunk of stuff that I quite like, but the majority is of a kind I just don’t really care for. Maybe that’ll change, but I’m happy with a B+ here, with room to grow
