my initial comparison here is obviously to Destiny’s child, right. Immediately I think the general quality of production is higher, everything is really clean, but I’m not sold on actually liking it. It’s occasionally explicit enough to just be gross and a little bit repelling, but that’s a rare enough it’s a very minor issue- mostly I think I’m just not super interested in the music. I dunno. It consistently feels repetitive in a way that grates on me in a way that for whatever reason Destiny’s Child rarely did. I can’t quite place why I don’t like it but I don’t, it’s consistently not interesting to me. I certainly don’t dislike it, and I think there’s a lot I respect about it, but I definitely don’t like it. I think I wish I did, at least a little, but I don’t. It’s telling, I think, that my favorite Beyonce song is actually a Jack White song
