super strong start actually, not much out yet but I’m really liking what’s there. Consistent, clean, thoughtful, and very enjoyable. And full length album is solid too. Nothing right now I dislike, no specific issues. I think I just like it a lot, gonna call it a high A. Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes up
RELISTEN1: I think I’m gonna keep him exactly where he’s at. I did this relisten thinking I’d drop him down a little bit. Not for any particular reason, just because I kept putting artists I really liked beneath him and thinking, “do I really like him this much? Do I really like him more than them?”. And upon listening again, I think the answer is, yeah, I kinda do. I think I stand by my general assessment of his music. It’s super solid, super clean, super enjoyable. I find it fairly faultless, across the board, and I really just like listening to it while it’s on. For those reasons, I’m not docking it lower than it is. That said, I’m not gonna raise him like I guessed I might my first time around, either– maybe that will come later, but for now I still don’t really have a strong connection to him, and that’s an important part of the higher ranks. That’s why I’ve also been questioning my placement of Bobbing, recently: I just don’t feel attached to home in the same way I do to my other S’s, and that attachment is an important part of the ranking. That’s how I feel about Fike right now. I still don’t feel attached, I don’t have the emotional connection, and for that reason I’m not raising him up at all. He’s going to stay right where he is, at least for the time being.
