I think I’m gonna be a big fan. I’m rating this a little conservatively for now because the songs don’t mean anything to me yet, but they’re all totally my vibe. I am increasingly certain that to some degree I just like folk and folk adjacent sounds. It’s such a good crossroads of interesting and engaging rhythms, pretty melodies, thoughtful and interesting harmonies, meaningful storytelling and poetry and lyricism, with the underlying assumption that it’s still supposed to be “simple”. It’s really great, I love it a lot, and I think Stolen Jars does it really really well.
So, for now I’m calling it a high A-, but in this case I fully expect that to go up. I like pretty much every song in every album, I enjoy them, I like the idea of them, I like the feeling and emotion of them, I like their arc over time, everything is my jam. I’m looking forward to getting to know them better
