Creedence Clearwater Revival in tier list
I’m not terribly impressed. It’s fine, but I don’t love it, I think it’s only fine. I think it gets better over time, by and large, which is always nice. The last album, Mardi Gras, is my favorite my a noticeable margin, which is honestly kinda gratifying to me. From the interviews I’ve read from him, John Fogerty seems obnoxiously full of himself. And maybe he’s earned that, maybe at some level of fame and success it’s just confidence, but I still find it grating. Especially when I don’t particularly like his songs. He’s got confidence and it fits his fame, but it doesn’t fit my own perception of him and so it doesn’t feel confident, it feels obnoxiously egotistic. Not to say he’s a bad person or that he didn’t have a rough go of it with his contracts and all that, but he grates on me. I’ll listen to his solo stuff soon, maybe I’ll like that better, maybe the band really was just slowing him down, I’ll see what I think. For now, though, I’m not a fan of CCR. The last two albums kinda started to turn it around, but for now I’m gonna say I don’t much care for it, it’ll be a D
