I think I can get behind this. At least so far, it definitely does feel pretty jam-band-y, which… on the one hand, I think that means songs run longer than they need to. On the other hand, I think Dave Matthews Band has taught me to dig the jam-band-y vibe. Well, to some extent. They’ve got four albums from 96 to 2000 that are all a little more jam-band-y. I like the first two pretty well, but the second two are too meandering, they lose me. However, the band gets back together and starts writing music again over a decade later, with a second set of four albums from 2012 to 2021, with another one coming soon. These albums are way tighter, way more my speed. I feel like they still have a lot of the emotion and feeling and good stuff from the earlier albums, just so much more listenable. I really quite like those four albums, actually. They’re coherent and strong as albums, and they all have lots of individual songs that worked for me, and that I liked more on the second listen. I’m still feeling itchy about my low As, so I don’t feel great about exactly where this is going in there, but I think the general spot should be alright. It definitely fits as a low A, even if my exact placement leaves me wanting
