280: The Pretenders (D)

The Pretenders in tier list

I was not particularly enthralled. Nothing against them, I’ve got no beef, I think they’re enjoyable enough, sure whatever. But pretty consistently I just felt, meh. Song after song, album after album, meh. It’s alright. Some albums I liked a little better than others but they all kinda blurred into a soupy mess. I think if there were only a couple albums I’d feel perfectly fine with a B- or something, but when there’s this much material to wade through I feel like it sours me a little bit. All of those songs and there wasn’t really anything redemptive that stood out, nothing for me to love or latch on to. D feels a mite bit aggressive, but I do think it’s the best fit– this kind of thing is kinda exactly what I’ve partitioned the D range to be for. I don’t care for it much, and I don’t see myself caring for it much. What can you do
