I like it! I don’t know that I actually have all that much to say here, this is pretty straightforward. I like him, he’s consistent, he makes fun songs and occasionally I happen to like those fun songs quite a bit. That’s mostly it.
I was surprised by how much I liked Busyhead since I only ever hear people talk about Stick Season. I was surprised by how eh I felt toward I Was / I Am after how much I liked Busyhead.
I really wanted to just adore Stick Season given its reputation, how much I liked Busyhead, and how much I like the first 20 or 30 minutes of it. But instead I just like it a lot. After those first 10 or so songs, there are still songs I like lots, but they’re kinda dotted in amongst songs that don’t really hold my attention. On the whole of it I still think the core of the album is super solid. I still think the long version makes sense and works, even though I do think it loses something in being a little less tight. I don’t particularly care about the collab versions of the songs. I’m not even saying I don’t care for them, I just don’t care about them. I don’t feel like they add all that much, I don’t have strong feelings about them.
But yeah. It’s good. I dig it, pretty easy A. Third one in a row, I think, which is kinda a treat for me. Yippee
