Glass Animals in tier list not my jam. there were songs that I liked and sometimes I’d feel it, but most often it just didn’t click. maybe it’ll grow on me but I doubt it- my favorite of all their songs was the ‘stripped’ stuff in the first album, and the style of their songsContinue reading “101: Glass Animals (B-→D+)”

100: Quinn XCII (A-→B-→D-)
Quinn XCII in tier list I actually have no idea, I could see this going way higher or lower, we’ll have to see. I like it, it’s consistent and good and vibing, though I don’t care for his themes. Honestly, most of the time I was listening to this I was wishing it were StillContinue reading “100: Quinn XCII (A-→B-→D-)”
Triple Digits!
I’m just excited and proud of myself, is all. One hundred artists ranked! That’s 100, one-zero-zero, folks! I’ve been consistently working on this project every day for the last year now (a little longer), though I started it less officially a month or two (or something) before that. I’ve since listened to a loooooot ofContinue reading “Triple Digits!”
99: The National Parks (B-→B+)
The National Parks in tier list pretty good, decent. started folkier and moved toward pop, which I think was not the move for them. I suspect that if they grow on me it will be in their first album- others are fine but very much only fine. They definitely feel like a little bit ofContinue reading “99: The National Parks (B-→B+)”
98: Ingrid Michaelson (B-)
Ingrid Michaelson in tier list solid, pretty good, but rarely interesting and no songs I really really liked, just decent
97: Hunter Hayes (B-→B+)
Hunter Hayes in tier list good, fun songs. country all sounds the same to me. maybe that’ll change as I listen to more of it but for now all I can really say is that this was pretty good, seemed like pretty good country. not particularly impressive to me, but it’s not like it soundsContinue reading “97: Hunter Hayes (B-→B+)”
96: The War on Drugs (C+)
The War on Drugs in tier list I like this band, I like the sound, I hear quality- but, but, they are long and they are too content. Average songs in albums are often at least 5 minutes, at least, and those are not a dense 5 minutes, they are spread out and airy. ItContinue reading “96: The War on Drugs (C+)”
95: Counting Crows (B→B-→D)
Counting Crows in tier list not sure, they could well get better or worse with time. I like August as an album, but few of the individual songs, and none of the other albums are as good, they all feel pretty meh, just alright. We’ll see EDIT1: individual songs blend together, don’t love it. BumpingContinue reading “95: Counting Crows (B→B-→D)”
94: The Happy Fits (B+→A)
The Happy Fits in tier list fine, good. doesn’t really catch my attention though, and not really any songs that stand out RELISTEN1: when I first listened to Happy Fits they made almost no impression on me at all, but they’ve definitely grown on me. The biggest change came when I saw them live inContinue reading “94: The Happy Fits (B+→A)”
93: Dave Matthews Band (A-→A)
Dave Matthews Band in tier list Solid. A couple albums with songs that average way too long, but for the most part within reason. A couple albums I really quite like (Under the Table and Dreaming, Everyday), and everything else is pretty good. Might grow on me, might not RELISTEN1: With their first three orContinue reading “93: Dave Matthews Band (A-→A)”
