359: Skegss (B-)

Skegss in tier list

It’s alright. Enjoyable enough, pretty basic pop rock/pop punk with pretty good energy. They clean up and tighten up as they keep making more music, but it never really becomes more than it is, more than it was at the start. I have nothing against it, and I think I could listen to a lot of it without being upset by it or starting to really find it grating, but it is definitely very simple and it is not catchy or pleasant enough—not purely enjoyable enough for me—to make up for that. For me. By their third album, Pacific Highway Music, I’d say it’s pretty good. Enjoyable enough. I still wouldn’t call it anything special, but I think it’s pleasant and there are enough songs that are a good time.

So, while I’m not impressed or drawn in enough to consider it for an A, or even for a high B, I have no reason to push it down to a C or D. I enjoy it enough for a B-, if only just.

Skegss complete, now listening to: Jesse Welles
