I know my impression of seeing her live in concert as an opener is years old now, but I remembered liking her way more. Her energy, and even just the sound of her voice. Listening to her now I still think she’s alright, but she feels so much more flat than I was expecting. In some ways I really want to like her; there is an earnestness and sincerity for life I from her that is compelling. But at the end of the day, I just don’t really care for the music all that much. Like, it’s pretty decent and I enjoy it well enough. It’s certainly not offensive, and there are plenty of songs that I like. But, y’know, not enough. It’s all pretty good at best, which is not enough for me to think more of her than, “Yeah, I guess she’s decent.” I think the B- fits.
